This was the first time using a spray on sealer for a project and the end result made the gloves very shiny like how they are in the movie. I am very happy on how the gloves turned out and it was very fun the experiment with different painting techniques.
These were relatively quick builds, made out of EVA foam and lots of paint. My main goal was to experiment with different types of paint techniques, like layering and dry brushing. I also used contact cement as well as hot glue which I usually use.
I first patterned out the gloves on paper and then transferred it to 3mm EVA foam. I then used contact cement to seal everything together.
I base coated all the pieces with yellow paint twice to get the nice bright yellow. I mixed a darker yellow with a bit of brown and dry brushed the mix onto the gloves. I also used a few more types of yellow paint to give the gloves a bit more depth. For the connection pieces I painted two coats of silver paint and a bit of brown to make the connectors look a bit rusty. After all the painting I glued everything together.
A video on how I made the gloves.
